About this role

The Laundry Attendant maintains a consistent supply of clean linens and towels for the hotel, restaurant, and banquet facilities. This role keeps the laundry room organized, clean, and sanitary at all times. The position supports daily operations at Hotel Indigo West Chester.

Daily work includes sorting linens for washers and removing stains from soiled items. The attendant operates washers and dryers properly while following all instructions. Banquet and kitchen laundry is washed as needed along with bedspreads and blankets.

The attendant folds all linens to hotel standards and handles chemical products safely. Inventory levels are reported to the Director of Housekeeping on a regular basis. All duties are performed in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Requirements

Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Grade school education preferred
Previous hotel-related experience desired
Ability to operate commercial washers and dryers
Knowledge of proper stain removal techniques
Ability to handle laundry chemicals safely
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift linens

Responsibilities

Sort linens for washer
Remove stains from badly soiled linen and consult Director of Housekeeping before discarding
Operate washers and dryers properly
Fold all linens to hotel standards
Wash banquet and kitchen laundry as needed along with bedspreads, bed pads, and blankets
Handle all laundry chemical products properly and advise Director of Housekeeping of inventory levels
Perform all other duties as assigned
