The Maintenance Mechanic handles operations, repairs, and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment in the facility. This role involves acquiring skills for required licenses during shifts from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, including weekends in Arlington, VA. Pay ranges from $20 to $23 based on experience.

A typical day includes daily, weekly, and monthly inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnosing simple problems, and assisting subcontractors. Responsibilities extend to interfacing with building managers for client satisfaction and completing status reports. Equipment installation, wiring, and inventory management ensure timely work completion.

Requirements

  • Available to work all shifts including 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM and weekends
  • Available to be on call 24/7
  • Basic coursework in electrical and HVAC systems
  • Universal CFC/R-410A certification
  • Prior hotel experience a plus
  • Reliable transportation
  • Able to lift sixty (60) pounds
  • Capable of ascending ladders up to thirty (30) feet

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of systems and associated equipment
  • Perform preventative and general maintenance on a scheduled basis
  • Maintain equipment to industry standards
  • Diagnose and repair simple HVAC, plumbing, and electrical problems as required
  • Provide assistance and support to subcontractors for equipment installation and repair
  • Interface with building manager and customer representatives to ensure client satisfaction
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports of system status as directed
  • Purchase materials, maintain inventory, and run wiring, cabling, and ductwork as directed
