About this role

The Maintenance Mechanic plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of facilities and production equipment. This position is responsible for troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools, performing preventive maintenance, and conducting repairs to enhance performance and safety.

On a daily basis, you will identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks. You will conduct repairs, make modifications or upgrades, and keep accurate records of all activities to minimize downtime and ensure efficient operation.

You will work closely with production teams and other maintenance staff to address equipment issues promptly and support production goals. Adherence to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards including GMPs and SOPs is critical to maintaining a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, vocational training, or a related field preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in facility and production maintenance environment.
  • Experience with conveyor systems, including maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of case erecting and folding systems, including operation and repair.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and compliance with OSHA standards (Lock Out Tag Out, Arc Flash desired).
  • Strong analytical skills to diagnose electro/mechanical issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and perform physical tasks.
  • Certifications or experience in HVAC, refrigeration desired but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct repairs on machinery and equipment, and make modifications or upgrades to enhance performance and safety.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards including GMPs and SOPs.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections to track equipment performance.
  • Work closely with production teams and other maintenance staff to address equipment issues promptly and support production goals.
  • Continuously update skills and knowledge related to new technologies, equipment, and maintenance practices.
