
About this role
Ormond College seeks reliable and professional Residential Services Duty Managers to join the team. Reporting to the Residential & Events Manager, the role maintains a safe and supportive environment for residents. This involves overseeing security and day-to-day operations during evenings and weekends.
As the primary on-site contact outside standard business hours, you support student wellbeing and respond to incidents and emergencies. The position includes managing front office operations and ensuring positive experiences for residents and visitors. Sound judgement and initiative are essential in this sole-charge role.
Shifts generally run from 7:00am to 3:00pm or 3:00pm to 11:00pm, with both weekend and weekday availability required. You will conduct security walks and liaise with security personnel as needed. The environment demands calm under pressure and strong organisational skills.

Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive community environment.
- Current Working with Children Check and Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
Responsibilities
- Maintaining the safety and security of College buildings and residents.
- Responding to emergencies, incidents, wellbeing concerns and resident requests.
- Conducting regular security walks across campus.
- Managing front office operations during evenings and weekends.
- Welcoming and assisting residents, visitors and academic guests.
- Supporting College events, functions and student activities.
- Preparing daily reports, incident reports and maintaining accurate records.
- Issuing and managing keys and electronic access cards.
