About this role
The Facilities Maintenance Manager is responsible for performing essential functions that ensure the facility operates smoothly. Regular reliable attendance is required since work cannot be performed remotely. This position manages maintenance to support warehouse production goals effectively.
Daily tasks involve hiring training and supervising maintenance personnel to achieve department production quality and safety goals. The manager plans and coordinates facility maintenance activities while ensuring production schedules are met through effective material flow management.
The role promotes a positive work environment that inspires employee morale and controls distribution costs related to building maintenance. It includes developing programs for quality improvement and implementing employee suggestions in a fast-paced team setting.
Candidates must maintain safe work environments by enforcing OSHA and other requirements while overseeing landscaping HVAC dock systems and fire protection. Flexible schedules including off shifts and weekends may be necessary with some travel required.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree and 5 years of maintenance management experience or 7 years of warehouse maintenance experience
- One year experience in a management position with at least 2 direct reports
- Basic proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Warehouse Management System
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including off shifts and weekends
- Excellent leadership and people skills
- Some travel may be required
Responsibilities
- Hire, train and supervise warehouse maintenance personnel in the performance of their assigned duties
- Manage, plan, and coordinate the activities of the facility maintenance to ensure optimum service level
- Ensure production and maintenance schedules are maintained to meet customer needs
- Create and meet annual variable cost budgets for the department
- Oversee building and grounds maintenance including landscaping, HVAC, dock doors and fire protection systems
- Maintain a safe work environment by observing and enforcing OSHA, HAZMAT and Lock out Tag Out requirements
- Identify areas for quality improvement and initiate problem solving activities
- Develop programs to elicit and implement the suggestions of employees
