About this role
This role is responsible for coordinating all aspects of group bookings and onboard events, serving as the primary point of contact for group leaders. Reporting to the Guest Services Manager, the coordinator ensures every group experience is seamless from pre-cruise planning through post-event feedback.
Day-to-day tasks include managing reservations, cabin assignments, and special requests while collaborating with Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Entertainment departments. The coordinator handles last-minute changes, distributes welcome packages and event schedules, and monitors group accounts to maintain accuracy.
Working within a dynamic shipboard environment, this role requires close liaison between group clients and multiple ship teams to ensure smooth communication. The coordinator also manages VIP group requests and collects feedback to continually improve service delivery.
This position offers the opportunity to develop expertise in high-stakes event logistics within the cruise industry. The 4-month on/2-month off contract provides a unique work-life rhythm for hospitality professionals seeking adventure at sea.
Requirements
- Previous experience in group coordination, event planning, or a similar role, preferably in a cruise or hospitality setting
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and handle dynamic, fast-paced environments
- Proficiency in computer systems, including reservation software
- Problem-solving abilities and the ability to work under pressure
- Fluency in English and Arabic; additional languages are a plus
