About this role

The General Manager oversees all daily restaurant operations to ensure efficient, compliant, and profitable performance. This role manages and develops a team of employees while maintaining high standards of customer service, food safety, and operational compliance.

Day-to-day responsibilities include scheduling, food ordering, inventory management, payroll processing, and opening and closing procedures with security and cash protocols. The General Manager also conducts daily walk-throughs using Wendy's Critical Checklists and leads weekly inventory counts.

This leader hires, trains, motivates, and develops employees through performance reviews and coaching, fostering a positive culture that supports retention and teamwork. The role enforces brand standards, uniform compliance, and promotes a professional, inclusive work environment rooted in WKS Values of Integrity, Loyalty, Winning, Service, and Teamwork.

Opportunities include driving customer experience improvements by coaching on Friendliness, Accuracy, Cleanliness, Speed, and Taste metrics. The General Manager also manages financial performance through budgeting, forecasting, and P&L analysis to meet sales and profit goals while controlling labor, food, and operating costs.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team, including hiring, training, coaching, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including scheduling, food ordering, inventory management, and payroll processes.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding financial targets through P&L analysis, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of customer service and improving service metrics such as speed, accuracy, and cleanliness.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, Health Department regulations, and Wendy's Food Safety Audit compliance.
  • Ability to enforce company policies, including uniform standards, timekeeping, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers, vendors, and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the restaurant team by hiring, training, motivating, and developing employees to ensure strong operational performance.
  • Oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, including scheduling, food ordering, inventory management, equipment checks, and payroll processes.
  • Conduct onboarding and orientation for new hires using the company's learning management system and enforce uniform and grooming standards.
  • Perform daily walk-throughs, monitor compliance with Wendy's Critical Checklists and food safety standards, and complete weekly inventory counts.
  • Ensure customers receive prompt, friendly, accurate, and high-quality service while achieving Wendy's service metrics: Friendliness, Accuracy, Cleanliness, Speed, and Taste.
  • Manage the restaurant's financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L analysis to meet sales and profit goals.
  • Enforce compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, company timekeeping policies, and report any concerns to leadership and Human Resources.
  • Work stations during peak business periods, team breaks, and as needed to maintain service levels.
