About this role

This role is responsible for cleaning and preparing guest rooms and public areas to meet established standards of cleanliness and propriety, ensuring guest satisfaction and maximizing revenues. As a Room Attendant, you play a key part in creating a safe and clean experience for hotel guests, associates, and vendors.

Your day-to-day tasks include setting up a cleaning cart with supplies, maintaining carts and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion, and cleaning windows, doors, walls, closets, and fixtures throughout rooms and public areas. You will also wash shower walls and tubs, clean toilets and stall walls, and wipe exposed pipes to maintain sanitary restrooms.

You will replace towels, soaps, and all room amenities, restock literature, and strip beds of all linens before remaking them with fresh linens. Additional duties include dusting and polishing furniture, vacuuming rooms and hallways, and inspecting door and window locks to ensure they are in working order for guest and employee safety.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products, and operation of standard cleaning equipment
  • Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms over head, bending, and stooping to perform cleaning tasks
  • Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and associates
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
