About this role

Banquet Server sets up banquet rooms and serves food and beverages in accordance with established guest service and sustainability standards at HHM Hotels in Philadelphia.

Daily work includes attending roll call meetings to learn event details, serving items in proper order, replenishing beverages, and promptly clearing dishes as guests finish each course.

The role requires responding to special requests, resolving complaints, and following all state and federal rules for serving alcoholic beverages while practicing safe work habits.

Team members work varying schedules that include holidays and weekends in a physically active environment with opportunities to advance to Banquet Captain and Banquet Manager.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.
Food service experience a plus.
Ability to remember and recite menu items.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds.
Knowledge of safe alcohol service regulations.

Responsibilities

Set up banquet room as instructed by supervisor.
Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function particulars, including guest and hotel expectations.
Serve the food and/or beverage in the order and to the expectation of the supervisor to ensure consistency throughout the banquet.
Replenish beverages as necessary and check with guests for overall satisfaction.
Promptly remove dishes as guests complete each course and/or meal at the end of the meal or function.
Respond to guest special requests and resolve guest complaints.
Abide by all state, federal and corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
Practice safe work habits and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
