Highgate, a premier real estate investment and hospitality management company, seeks an Operations Manager for the Hyatt Regency Times Square. This iconic, ultra-modern, full-service hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Times Square excitement, with 795 modern, newly renovated guestrooms.

The Operations Manager is responsible for planning and directing operations to improve productivity and efficiency. This role provides a strong lobby presence to assist front desk agents and guests, while balancing hotel room type inventory and ensuring all areas meet Paramount standards.

You will assist the Director and Assistant Director of Front Office with managing the Front Office operation and provide support to other departments including Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Engineering. The role also involves shift coverage in F&B operations, handling guest special requests and complaints, and managing employee payroll and attendance.

This position offers the opportunity to coach, train, and counsel hourly associates while participating in Manager on Duty coverage. Requirements

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field; or a 2-year college degree and a minimum of 3 years of progressive experience; or a 4-year degree and a minimum of 1 year of progressive experience
  • Previous supervisory responsibilities
  • Must be proficient in Windows, company-approved spreadsheets, and word processing
  • Ability to work long hours sometimes required
  • Sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
  • Experience with hotel property management systems and revenue management tools preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director and Assistant Director of Front Office with managing the Front Office operation and provide support to other departments including F&B, Housekeeping, and Engineering
  • Provide strong lobby presence to assist front desk agents and guests
  • Balance the hotel room type inventory and monitor the Nor 1 upsell program
  • Ensure all areas of the lobby, Mezzanine level, and F&B operations function to Paramount standards
  • Handle guest special requests and customer complaints during shift
  • Manage employee payroll, track attendance in ADP, conduct time edits, and perform call-arounds for overtime as needed
  • Coach, train, and counsel hourly associates and administer discipline as needed
  • Perform Night Audit functions, review Night Audit reports, and participate in M.O.D. coverage as required
