About this role

The newly renovated Midtown Hotel is seeking a dependable, organized, and diligent Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position handles repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance for mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.

Your day involves performing general maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, and building systems. You will inspect equipment, identify needed repairs, troubleshoot issues, and work from blueprints or manuals as needed.

You thrive in a fast-paced, friendly environment and enjoy resolving guest issues with a hands-on approach. The role requires interacting pleasantly with guests and working a rotational schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • Previous maintenance or related experience, hotel experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of kitchen and refrigeration equipment preferred
  • Working knowledge of fire protection and life safety systems preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to interact with guests in a pleasant and friendly manner
  • Ability to work with little supervision while maintaining high performance
  • Prioritization and time management skills
  • Ability to work a 7-day rotational schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and basic carpentry
  • Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair
  • Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repair and plan work using blueprints or manuals
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance programs following established standards
  • Respond timely to all work orders and work with supervisor on technical projects
  • Assist with house person and shuttle driver duties as needed
  • Maintain building exterior including snow removal, lawn care, and painting
  • Clean and assist with upkeep of the facility
