About this role
The Cypress of Charlotte is recruiting for a hospitality focused Maintenance Technician I to join our team. This position works in accordance with established policies and procedures and specific instructions from the Facility Operations Director.
This role is responsible for completing work order requests, performing minor repairs in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry, and painting and installing household fixtures. The technician also performs routine preventative maintenance for villas and cottages and responds to work order requests and radio calls in a timely manner.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Must have valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record
- Must be skilled in proper usage of necessary tools and equipment for electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical work
- Must have at least one to four years' experience in all areas of maintenance (e.g., electrical, mechanical, carpentry, plumbing)
- Ability to talk respectfully with, understand, empathize with, work with and be tolerant of members, residents, patients, families, visitors, peers, supervisors and outside contractors
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English
Responsibilities
- Responds to work order requests and radio calls in a timely manner
- Performs minor repairs in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry, and paints and installs household fixtures
- Routinely performs preventative maintenance for villas and cottages
- Keeps the maintenance shop clean, orderly, and neat
- Maintains all tools, equipment, and supplies in proper condition on a daily basis
- Assists in responding to fire alarms or drills
- Cross-trains in all other areas of the Plant Operations department
- Treats all members with courtesy and respect at all times
