About this role

This role utilizes advanced skills to perform site visits, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs of buildings, equipment, and grounds. Working under limited supervision, you will monitor building systems operations and general performance to maintain a safe and efficient facility.

Day-to-day duties include reviewing assigned work orders, performing emergency and preventive maintenance, and completing maintenance records. You will inspect building systems such as fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure equipment operates within design capabilities.

You may assign work orders and provide technical training to coworkers and subcontractors, as well as oversee and inspect work performed by outside contractors. The position involves consulting with management to schedule preventive maintenance that minimizes business interruption and extends the life of building systems.

As a key contributor to facility operations, you will be on call for emergencies during and after normal business hours. This role offers the opportunity to apply your expertise in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and roofing while working with a dedicated team focused on quality and safety.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer skills.
  • Three years of experience in general maintenance.
  • Experience with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and roofing, along with general HVAC knowledge.
  • Current, valid Ohio driver's license and personal car insurance.
  • Knowledge of building maintenance and repairs.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools and power tools.
  • Clear verbal communication skills and ability to give and follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Work under limited supervision to monitor building systems operations and general performance.
  • Review assigned work orders and perform repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance.
  • Complete maintenance and repair records daily and as required.
  • Inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation is within design capabilities.
  • Assign work orders and provide technical and procedural training to coworkers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Consult with management to schedule and conduct preventive maintenance that minimizes business interruption.
  • Remain on call for emergency situations and issues during business hours, after hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Use handheld devices such as a mobile phone to receive and complete work orders.
