About this role

The Senior Food Operations Manager directs all aspects of food service operations and provides direct supervision to supervisees in food serving and clean-up. This position ensures meals are prepared and served while complying with all policies. The role maintains standards in a secure institutional environment.

Supervises Food Service staff activities to prepare and serve meals to the population. Manages the unit’s food service operation ensuring health and safety standards. Handles sanitation, procurement, documentation, food storage and cost controls daily.

Works in a correctional setting that requires adherence to security regulations at all times. Applies working knowledge of DOC Policies and Procedures for Food Services. Uses basic Microsoft Office skills for documentation and operational reporting.

Leads large volume food operations in a correctional or similar institutional setting. Supports compliance with sanitation and food safety standards. Offers scope to supervise staff and obtain ServSafe Certification within twelve months.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of large volume food operations, sanitation, and food safety standards.
  • Skilled in the operation of food service equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and/or offenders in a food service environment.
  • Working knowledge of DOC Policies and Procedures for Food Services.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
  • Work experience in a large volume food service environment including a correctional, educational, hospital or similar institutional setting.
  • ServSafe Certification or the ability to obtain within 12-months.
