About this role

This position is the highest management position at the drive-in and is responsible for leading and managing the drive-in’s operations and employees. The General Manager reports directly to the Market Supervisor or Multi-Unit Supervisor and holds exempt status.

Daily work centers on recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, coaching, and terminating assistant managers and employees. The role also includes managing compensation levels, opening and closing duties, and handling guest and employee issues with proper escalation.

Operations leadership requires planning and adjusting food, labor, paper, and inventory to maximize cost control, quality standards, and customer service. Regular team meetings, recordkeeping, operational reports, local marketing action plans, equipment maintenance, and vendor supervision are all part of the standard routine.

Compliance duties cover all company policies, federal, state, and local laws, plus continuous cleaning and sanitation standards. Additional station coverage and physical tasks such as moving product up to 50 pounds may be required during peak periods.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced studies in business or restaurant management preferred
  • At least three years of restaurant management experience (QSR preferred)
  • Experience running a restaurant shift without supervision
  • Experience recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and managing employees
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local labor, employment, health, and safety laws
  • Basic computer, math, accounting, and reading skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication, problem-solving, multi-tasking, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, manage, direct, coach, lead, schedule, assign, discipline, and terminate assistant managers and employees
  • Manage drive-in employees’ compensation levels pursuant to company guidelines
  • Supervise, lead, and manage all aspects of drive-in operations to provide an optimal guest experience
  • Manage opening and closing duties and handle guest and employee issues with proper escalation
  • Manage, plan, forecast, and adjust food, labor, paper, and inventory to maximize cost control and operational efficiency
  • Lead regular team meetings and manage all drive-in recordkeeping and operational reports
  • Develop and implement action plans for local marketing and business performance while ensuring equipment maintenance
  • Comply with and enforce all company policies, procedures, operational standards, and applicable laws
