About this role
As a SONIC Drive-In General Manager, you oversee and manage daily operations to provide quality food in a clean, safe, and efficient manner. This ensures guests have an enjoyable experience. As the highest management position, you are accountable for the entire Drive-In and its operations.
You handle hiring, training, managing, supervising, directing, and developing Great People to serve a SuperSONIC experience. Manage a profit and loss statement to exceed expectations every week, month, and year. Swiftly resolve employee concerns while celebrating team successes and coaching for better performance.
Demonstrate a Fair, Firm, Fun leadership approach and lead by example. Create an upbeat positive atmosphere during shifts that makes work fun. Set expectations, provide clear and continuous feedback, and help employees understand the big picture by sharing the “why” behind tasks.
Use metrics to evaluate Drive-In performance and make improvements. Get out in the community to make a difference and grow sales for your Drive-In and the brand. Maintain and enforce SONIC safety and sanitation standards while relentlessly complying with all laws and regulations.
Requirements
- Prior management experience; restaurant or retail industry highly preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of restaurant management experience (QSR preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing and selection practices
- Knowledge of federal and state labor laws as well as local health and sanitation laws
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Basic accounting and computer skills
- Ability to multi-task, solve problems, and work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
