About this role

This role serves as a Hotel Front Desk Agent at Camp Mabry Training Site, providing essential guest services to military personnel and visitors. You will be the first point of contact for guests, ensuring a welcoming and efficient check-in and check-out experience.

Daily tasks include processing reservations, handling guest inquiries, and managing billing and payment transactions. You will also coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to address guest needs and maintain a clean, comfortable environment.

Working within the Texas Military Department, you will join a supportive team dedicated to serving those who serve our state. The position offers a regular, stable schedule in a professional office and administrative support setting.

As a Customer Service Representative IV, you have the opportunity to grow your skills in hospitality and government operations. This role provides a foundation for advancement within state service and the hospitality industry.

Requirements

  • Experience in customer service, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment
  • Ability to operate a computer and learn hotel property management systems
  • Strong cash handling and basic math skills
  • Effective verbal communication skills for interacting with guests and team members
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • High school diploma or equivalent is typically required for this level

Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in hotel guests upon arrival, verifying reservations and assigning rooms
  • Process check-outs, including billing and payment collection
  • Manage reservations, modifications, and cancellations using hotel management software
  • Answer phone calls and respond to guest inquiries about services, amenities, and local information
  • Address guest complaints or issues promptly and escalate as needed
  • Maintain accurate guest records and ensure data privacy
  • Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance to fulfill guest requests and room readiness
  • Handle cash and credit card transactions while following security procedures
