
About this role
HopCat's mission is to be the best damn beer bar on the planet. As General Manager, you will oversee overall restaurant operations and lead a team dedicated to great beer and welcoming atmospheres. You'll drive financial performance and ensure every guest experience reflects our inclusive values.
Your daily responsibilities include developing salaried managers through feedback and goal setting, enforcing operational standards like our sustainability and beer education programs, and maintaining a strong floor presence. You'll analyze food, beverage, and labor costs to improve financial results.
Our restaurants are designed to bring you great beer while fostering a work family that gives back to communities. All team members receive training in our industry-leading recycling and composting program, diverting up to 90 percent of waste from landfills. Requirements
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Efficient organizational skills and strong follow-up.
- Ability to set and meet goals and maintain task management for yourself and your team.
- Effective interpersonal skills to build relationships with hourly and salaried team members.
- Great attention to detail and excellent decision-making with guests, team members, and the restaurant in mind.
- Minimum of two years of salaried management experience in a high-volume restaurant/bar.
- Experience managing financial reports and budgets.
Responsibilities
- Develop all salaried managers through consistent feedback and goal setting practices, leveraging internal company processes.
- Enforce and implement operational standards, including the sustainability program and beer education program.
- Evaluate health and safety practices and follow up on any opportunities for improvement.
- Manage financial analysis of food, beverage, labor costs and controllable expenses with action plans to improve results.
- Organize and manage accounts payable invoices to ensure timely submission to the accounting team.
- Establish the expectation for effective floor presence through example and follow-up to support operations.
- Maintain the safety and wellness of the facility, ensuring appropriate follow-up.
