About this role

This seasonal role at the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge ensures that facilities are clean and in good operating condition through routine general maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and equipment. As a Maintenance Assistant, you directly contribute to the safety and satisfaction of both guests and employees.

Day-to-day tasks include performing maintenance inspections, checks, and daily rounds, as well as assisting with preventive and corrective maintenance involving inspections and repairs. You will observe facility equipment operation, update logs in software applications, and communicate repair status via handheld radios and in person.

Working within the Maintenance department, you will interact with employees and guests—answering questions, providing local area and hotel information, and following up on repair status. The role requires supporting company health and safety standards while working independently or as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 years to operate service vehicles and maintenance equipment.
  • Valid Driver’s License (not revoked or suspended) with fewer than three moving violations.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs./23kg.
  • Must be willing to be part of our random alcohol and drug testing program.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States (visa sponsorship not available).
  • Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for a minimum of 8 hours per day.

Responsibilities

  • Routinely performs maintenance inspections, checks, and daily rounds.
  • Routinely performs a variety of entry-level maintenance tasks.
  • Assists with preventive and corrective maintenance involving inspections and repairs.
  • Observes operation of facility equipment and updates logs in software applications and other written maintenance and repair records.
  • Communicates verbally via handheld radios and in person for repair calls, troubleshooting, and follow-up with employees and guests on repair status.
  • Interacts with employees and guests including but not limited to answering questions and providing information about local areas and hotel services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
