The General Manager is accountable for overall performance as a strategic business partner driving company goals. Lead teams to deliver responsive, friendly service while ensuring training from Head Office is attended. Execute operational strategies with senior leadership, achieve sales and quality objectives, and handle hiring and marketing activities. Administrate cash handling, financial statements, and compliance with Employment Standards Act.

Cultivate a fun, engaging work environment compliant with local laws and Health & Safety programs. Continually develop staff through training, performance feedback, and professional upskilling. Foster venue participation in cross-venue Health & Safety Committee with salaried and hourly representatives.

Requirements

  • Superior leadership to cultivate fun, engaging work environment

  • Passion for delivering continual training and coaching
  • Knowledge of local laws and Employment Standards Act
  • Expertise in financial reconciliation and reporting
  • Experience driving sales, service, and operational results in hospitality venues
  • Ability to collaborate with Business Development, Events, and Marketing teams

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all team members are trained to anticipate guests’ needs and deliver responsive, friendly, courteous service
  • Administer learning, development, and training from Head Office departments
  • Develop and upskill staff through ongoing training programs and performance feedback
  • Ensure active participation in company Health & Safety Program with venue representatives on cross-venue committee
  • Achieve objectives in sales, service, quality, facility appearance, sanitation, and cleanliness
  • Conduct quality control for food and beverage preparation and service to standards
  • Develop and execute operational strategies with senior leadership and Back of House team
  • Make hiring, onboarding, succession planning, and termination decisions per policies
