About this role
As a Guest Service Agent, you will be the first point of contact for hotel guests, greeting and registering them in a friendly and courteous manner according to hotel and brand standards. This role is essential to creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring a seamless check-in experience.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include establishing methods of payment, verifying credit, and computing bills while collecting payments and making change. You will also make and confirm reservations, transmit messages using the PMS system, and respond to guest requests promptly.
You will work closely with front desk and other hotel departments to resolve guest complaints, secure valuables, and assist in the breakfast area or with luggage during peak periods. The environment is fast-paced, requiring standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25 pounds.
This role offers a clear growth path to Front Desk Supervisor or Sales Coordinator, and eventually to Front Office Manager or Sales Manager. HHM Hotels provides a supportive culture with opportunities for professional development and advancement.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous customer service experience or equivalent training required.
- Knowledge of PMS systems preferred.
- Ability to handle cash and credit transactions accurately.
- Ability to work a varied schedule including weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, push, lift up to 25 pounds, bend, and reach.
- Professional appearance and courteous demeanor.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests immediately and offer to assist with their needs.
- Register and assign guests to hotel rooms.
- Establish methods of payment and verify credit.
- Compute bills, collect payments, and make change for guests.
- Respond to guest requests in a timely manner.
- Receive and resolve guest complaints, elevating to supervisor if necessary.
- Secure guests' valuables in hotel safe or safe-deposit boxes.
- Perform bookkeeping activities such as balancing accounts and conducting audits.
