About this role
General Managers at Chicken Express are responsible for the overall operation of their unit, supporting and implementing business objectives through a strong sales-based focus and constant development of their team. This exempt position provides the strategy and delegates duties to ensure all business objectives and sales goals are met.
On a day-to-day basis, General Managers develop the overall strategy for the unit to meet business objectives, promote employees, and hit sales goals across all applicable sales avenues. Duties include communicating unit objectives with all staff through to completion, proactively seeking out sales opportunities through phone calls, physical interactions, and driving where necessary, and maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
General Managers maintain the highest quality standards to ensure a safe working environment, including maintaining HACCP and Board of Health protocols for all employees. They recruit and retain appropriately skilled staff, schedule based on forecasted sales, audit internal processes, manage employee relations issues to ensure a harmonious work environment, and develop assistant management to effectively manage sales, costs, quality, and people basics.
This role offers the opportunity to positively impact the unit through demonstrated creativity in developing and implementing strategic initiatives. General Managers support the District General Manager by effectively communicating issues, concerns, and special needs, while filling in wherever necessary to move the line faster, assist in delivering product, and serving food to customers.
Requirements
- Proven ability to delegate work in a cost-saving manner
- Strong leadership skills to manage, motivate, and develop staff
- Strong customer service abilities
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Ability to regularly stand, walk, talk, carry, bend, stoop, turn, and lift in excess of 35 pounds
- Ability to drive, view a computer monitor, and type/write on a regular basis
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule
Responsibilities
- Develop overall strategy for the unit to meet business objectives, develop and promote employees, and meet sales goals in all applicable sales avenues
- Maintain the highest standard of customer service in the unit

- Develop assistant management to effectively manage sales, costs, quality, and people basics
- Recruit and retain appropriately skilled staff to work in the restaurant and handle catering and banquet events
- Make deposits at the bank and fill in wherever necessary to assist in delivering product and serving food to customers
