About this role

We are seeking a dynamic General Manager to oversee two premium Accor properties in the heart of Auckland: The Sebel Auckland Viaduct Harbour and Sebel Quay West Suites Auckland. This unique dual-property role offers the chance to lead a chic waterfront retreat and a 4.5-star apartment-style hotel, both located near the Viaduct Harbour and central business district.

In this hands-on role, you will oversee daily operations across all departments, ensuring seamless and profitable function of both properties. You will actively engage in revenue management, recruiting and training, customer service, and achievement of financial targets, while maintaining excellent product and service standards.

You will lead and develop a highly engaged team, fostering a culture of excellence where team members are encouraged and motivated to be their true self each day. Building strong relationships with key stakeholders, property owners, and guests is essential, as is acting as a liaison within the local community to represent Accor and foster community engagement.

Requirements

  • Prior General Manager experience and a deep understanding of a Strata environment and stakeholder management is essential
  • You create environments where your team are encouraged and motivated to be their true self each day
  • Display confidence in your ability to cultivate strong relationships, effectively address challenging situations, and implement solutions that enhance service quality
  • Experience and capability to drive financial growth through skillful & thoughtful strategy
  • Comprehension of the key metrics that impact and grow hospitality businesses, using this knowledge to drive top line revenue and motivating your team to do the same

Responsibilities

  • Managing all facets of the property including revenue management, recruiting & training, customer service and achievement of financial targets
  • Leading and developing your team to ensure the hotel's profitability and success, ensuring an engaged team dedicated to driving positive customer sentiment
  • Driving changes and improvements in performance and implementing strategies in line with business objectives
  • Creating and building strong relationships with key stakeholders, property owners & guests
  • Maintaining excellent product and service standards whilst maximising revenue and balancing expenses
  • Acting as a liaison within the local community, representing Accor and fostering community engagement
  • Leading a highly engaged team and delivering a guest experience that aligns with brand standards while maximising operating results
