About this role

As Deputy Hotel Manager for Barceló Hotel Group, you will execute the management policy across all aspects of hotel operations, stepping into the Director's role when needed. This position offers the opportunity to work for the second-largest chain in Spain and one of the top 30 worldwide, with over 60,000 rooms across 270 hotels in 24 countries.

Day-to-day, you will organize, direct, coordinate, and supervise all hotel operations in both accommodation and Food and Beverage areas, working directly with department heads. You will convene periodic briefings, ensure quality levels meet set objectives, and attend personally to guests throughout their stay.

You'll collaborate on budget preparation and monitoring, prepare fortnightly forecasts, and participate in marketing efforts including tour operator relations, commercial visits, and events. The role also involves revenue management, e-commerce oversight, and supporting HR policies such as staff selection, performance monitoring, and managing staff reports and ratios.

Requirements

  • Previous experience of at least 5 years as Assistant Hotel Manager or Junior Manager in a holiday product
  • Fluent in English; fluency in additional languages such as German or Italian is an asset
  • Academic qualification at Diploma level, preferably in Tourism, Hotel Management or similar
  • Experience in integral management of the hotel, including operations and customer relations
  • Strong commercial skills
  • Ability to analyse data and solve problems effectively
  • Team management and development skills
  • Ability to coordinate and supervise multiple departments simultaneously

Responsibilities

  • Execute the management policy in all aspects, assuming the functions of the Director in his/her absence
  • Organise, direct, coordinate and supervise all hotel operations in both accommodation and Food and Beverage areas
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of department heads, convening periodic briefings
  • Ensure quality levels in accordance with set objectives, and attend to clients throughout their stay
  • Collaborate in budget preparation and monitoring; prepare fortnightly forecasts
  • Participate in marketing activities including tour operators, commercial visits, and events
  • Oversee revenue management and e-commerce aspects of the hotel
  • Supervise staff reports, ratios, and participate in selection processes and performance monitoring
