Sunshine Village, set in one of the most stunning alpine settings in the Canadian Rockies, is seeking a Hotel Front Desk Agent for the Base. This highly visible role serves as the first point of contact for guests arriving to stay at the Sunshine Mountain Lodge, ensuring a warm welcome and smooth passage up to the hotel.

Day-to-day responsibilities include confirming reservation and ticket details, organizing luggage transfers, and scanning pre-purchased passes. You will also settle guest hotel charges when required and coordinate arrivals that may necessitate out-of-regular operating hours transfers.

Reporting to the Hotel Front Desk Supervisor and the Hotel Assistant Manager, you will liaise frequently with all hotel departments, the warehouse team, and base area departments. The role requires maintaining a tidy, organized check-in area and ensuring safe entry and exit at the Creekside base.

This position offers a ridiculously cool life experience in a breathtaking alpine environment, with a plethora of lively staff events all season long. It is an opportunity to enjoy jaw-dropping views of surrounding peaks, including Mt. Assiniboine, while building hospitality skills in a unique mountain lodge setting.

Requirements

  • Passion for providing excellent guest service
  • Previous hospitality experience is an asset
  • Outgoing, positive, and friendly attitude, working as a reliable team player who possesses initiative
  • Organized with good planning, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Prepared to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, and nights
  • Calm under pressure and patient
  • Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally
  • Must be neat, alert, punctual, and dependable

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests and ensure smooth passage up to the hotel by confirming reservation and ticket arrangements
  • Organize the receiving and transfer of luggage up and down from the base to the village area, liaising with the warehouse and Bell Desk team
  • Scan and process pre-purchased tickets and passes
  • Settle guest hotel charges prior to departure when required
  • Provide accurate resort information and engage in assessing guest needs and expectations
  • Coordinate guest arrivals that may necessitate out-of-regular operating hours transfers
  • Ensure the Creekside base hotel check-in area is tidy, organized, and clean, including keeping the entrance free of snow, ice, and debris
  • Complete timely and accurate incident and deficiencies reporting to appropriate departments
