About this role

The General Manager is responsible for the execution and delivery of all operational performance objectives resulting in guest satisfaction, including ordering supplies, overseeing building maintenance, cleanliness, security, and ensuring Always Fresh standards and waste levels are met. They are accountable for production of Always Fresh standards and waste levels.

Using restaurant-specific information from the Continuous Performance Plan, the manager plans and works to budgets, maximizes profits, and achieves sales and transaction targets. They control food, paper, and labour costs, administer payrolls, and prepare reports and performance analysis documentation, ensuring operational efficiency and profitability.

The General Manager recruits new team members, manages performance, and trains and develops existing staff to achieve targets. They build bench strength by identifying high-potential employees for progression, set goals, and ensure open communication through logs and daily interactions, and handle guest complaints with professionalism.

This role provides leadership in health and safety compliance, including conducting workplace inspections and accident investigations. The manager also establishes relationships with the local community and undertakes corporate social responsibility activities, fostering a culture of safety and guest satisfaction while ensuring proper security procedures and reducing team member theft.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in restaurant management, preferably in a quick-service environment
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, cost control, and payroll administration
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and develop team members
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and ability to implement safety programs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for team and guest interactions
  • Ability to handle guest complaints and queries with professionalism
  • Physical capability to meet postural demands including frequent reaching and manual dexterity
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of guest experience and operational excellence
