The Hotel General Manager holds overall management responsibility for hotel operations, including profitability, guest service, product quality, cleanliness, and maintenance.

Operate within the framework of approved annual budget, marketing plan, capital expenditure plan, wage plan, and company policies. Lead the Executive Committee utilizing a participative style, coordinating departments and assisting in problem-solving. Guide the committee to best serve the financial interests of the property.

Develop annual operating budgets defining required achievement levels and assure profits through accounting diligence. Conduct monthly forecasting of staff and costs, plus business planning with department guidance. Review financial statements monthly to correct issues and plan ahead.

Set quarterly priorities and objectives for department heads with action plans. Foster high esprit de corps, loyalty, and morale to reduce turnover through communication and staff development. Sage invests in personal and professional growth for independent thinkers and risk-takers.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to manage hotel profitability, guest service, and product quality
  • Expertise in developing and adhering to annual operating budgets and financial plans
  • Experience leading executive committees in hospitality operations
  • Strong skills in forecasting, P&L analysis, and expenditure controls
  • Track record of setting departmental objectives and ensuring implementation
  • Knowledge of coordinating hotel maintenance, cleanliness, and staff relations
  • Ability to foster team loyalty and morale in dynamic hospitality environments
  • Familiarity with hospitality policies, marketing plans, and capital expenditures

Responsibilities

  • Assure achievement of annual budget in revenues, costs, and profits through expenditure controls

  • Conduct monthly forecasting of operating staff, cost expenditures, and business planning
  • Review financial statements monthly to correct problems and assure wise spending
  • Develop high esprit de corps, loyalty, and morale to reduce turnover and communicate with staff
