About this role
The Facilities Technician II serves as an integral part in executing the vision for student living at The Scion Group. This role responds to maintenance and repair service requests while carrying out preventive maintenance tasks and preparing apartments for turnovers. The position ensures safety and functionality of the property’s buildings and equipment.
Daily work involves diagnosing and performing routine maintenance and repairs in a timely manner. Responsibilities include operating system monitoring for life safety systems such as fire pumps and sprinkler systems. The technician also maintains key management protocols and coordinates with vendors on approved schedules.
This position thrives in a fast-paced collegiate environment that demands superior problem solving and technical abilities. The Facilities Technician II works alongside the Facilities Manager to coordinate daily assignments and maintain the physical condition of the property according to standard operating procedures.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED with 3-5 years of general maintenance experience
- HVAC certification and EPA 608 certification (Core, Type I, II & III)
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or ability to obtain within six months
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of safety procedures and key management systems
- Ability to use computer programs such as Entrata and CMMS
- Physical ability to stand for 8 hours and lift up to 100 lbs
- Willingness to travel and work flexible schedules including after-hours emergencies
Responsibilities
- Maintain the physical condition of the property according to standard operating procedures and OSHA guidelines
- Perform physically demanding work to maintain the asset and minimize liability
- Operate system monitoring and diagnostics for life safety systems including fire pumps and alarms
- Assist in creating emergency and disaster preparedness plans
- Maintain key management protocols and security measures
- Coordinate delivery and work schedules with vendors and contractors
- Diagnose and perform routine maintenance and repairs in a timely manner
- Assure all service requests are completed promptly
