StepStone Hospitality, a leading hospitality management company, seeks a driven and results oriented Area Hotel General Manager for its Tru by Hilton and DoubleTree by Hilton properties in Portland, Maine. This role requires a passionate leader who shares our commitment to excellence and innovation.

The General Manager will drive GSS scores and TripAdvisor rankings while forging strong owner and asset management relationships. Daily responsibilities include analyzing revenue trends, controlling costs, and balancing topline revenue objectives with service levels.

This leader must maintain transparency under scrutiny from multiple parties and motivate employees to drive positive morale and develop talent. The ideal candidate has a hands-on, entrepreneurial style, adapts quickly to change, and uses business intelligence tools like STR reports and P&L analysis.

The role offers the chance to be a "fixer" and elevate operational and service culture to higher standards, including renovation and property re-concepting. Success here means building both revenue and NOI while fostering a culture of over-communication and creative problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years hotel General Manager experience in a branded hotel environment, preferably Hilton.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations.
  • Experience as a General Manager for a 3rd party management company preferred.
  • Exceptional mathematical and computer skills.
  • CPR and first aid training required.
  • Additional language ability preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive GSS scores and TripAdvisor rankings to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Forge transparent, strong owner and asset management relationships under scrutiny from multiple parties.
  • Analyze revenue trends and data to effectively contribute to revenue management strategies.
  • Build both revenue and Net Operating Income (NOI) with a successful track record.
  • Lead renovation and property re-concepting efforts to elevate hotel operational and service culture.
  • Control costs while balancing topline revenue objectives and service levels.
  • Motivate employees, drive positive morale, and develop talent within the organization.
