About this role

Residence Inn Portsmouth, a Colwen Hotels Property, is seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Part Time Night Auditor to join our team. This is an overnight position responsible for balancing hotel transactions and closing out the day.

In this role, you will operate the front desk and assist guests with inquiries and needs during pre-arrival, registration, stay, checkout, and post-departure. You will complete end of day activities including posting charges to accounts, balancing ledgers, running night audit, and rolling the date.

You will work closely with the Lead Audit team to communicate daily closing issues and ensure accuracy. You will also maintain strict key controls and adhere to all Colwen and brand standards while providing exceptional guest service.

Requirements

  • One year of related experience, hotel preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Superior interpersonal and customer service skills, with ability to deal with difficult guests
  • Familiarity with local area to provide directions and maps to attractions
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and common computer software programs
  • Ability to learn property management system and other computer software
  • Overnight work schedule required, including weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Operate the front desk and assist guests with inquiries and needs during pre-arrival, registration, stay, checkout, and post-departure
  • Complete end of day activities including posting charges to accounts, balancing ledgers, running night audit, and rolling date
  • Process guest check-in by confirming reservations and assigning rooms, and ensure timely check-out
  • Respond to guest requests with professionalism, tact, and a sense of urgency, resolving complaints regarding service or accommodations
  • Ensure accuracy of daily closing reports and prompt delivery of billing to guests
  • Process all payment types including charges, cash, checks, debit, and credit cards
  • Maintain strict key controls and ensure confidentiality of guest information
  • Keep lobby and shared areas neat and orderly while adhering to all brand standards
