About this role

V.Ships Leisure seeks a Public Area Attendant for Royal Caribbean International's shipboard Hotel department. This contract position maintains all public areas, crew public areas, outer decks, pools, jacuzzis, and public restrooms in clean, orderly condition. Duties rotate across different areas on the vessel.

Daily tasks include operating steam cleaning equipment, scrapers, brooms, and power tools with various cleaners and chemicals. Prepare solutions by mixing water and detergents according to specifications. Clean bathrooms, elevators, offices, crew corridors, carpets, upholstery, floors, walls, ceilings, windows, and accessories to remove dirt, stains, and moisture.

Follow Royal Caribbean International’s SOPs, SQM standards, USPH guidelines, environmental, and safety policies at all times. Exemplify friendly, passionate, committed behavior in physical and verbal interactions with guests and shipboard employees. Perform functions across various service venues as required.

Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment, notify management of issues, and stay informed on ship events via daily Compass. Assist food service with soiled items, transport luggage during embarkation/disembarkation, and attend meetings, training, and work-related activities. Ensure safe pool operations and deck furniture condition.

Requirements

Experience in housekeeping, cleaning services in hotel, resort or cruise/ferry ships preferable
Ability to use steam cleaning machines, power tools, and various chemicals safely
Knowledge of USPH guidelines, SOPs, and safety regulations
Physical ability to perform deep cleaning, lift/move furniture, and work on rotation basis
Familiarity with maintaining pools, decks, and public restrooms on ships
Capacity to follow environmental and shipboard safety policies

Responsibilities

Operate steam cleaning equipment, scrapers, brooms, and power tools using various cleaners and chemicals
Mix water and detergents to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications
Clean public bathrooms, elevators, offices, and crew corridors
Clean carpets, upholstery, floors, walls, ceilings, draperies, windows, and accessories to remove dirt, stains, mildew
Dust furniture, wash windows, walls, polish fixtures, spray carpet and upholstery with conditioners
Maintain safe, clean pool area including turf, open/close procedures, attach/detach pool net
Empty wastebaskets, transport trash and soiled glasses/china to disposal areas
Notify management of malfunctions, safety issues, and maintain supplies/equipment
